Clean fossil fuel heat and power plants - General information
Oxygen production
The air that surrounds us contains ~21 % oxygen. There are two ways to separate this oxygen from the air.
- Cryogenic Air Separation
- Based on differences in boiling points of the different air gases.
- A well developed technology.
- None Cryogenic Air Separation
- Based on differences in molecular weights and molecular size of the different air gases.
- Employs membranes or adsorbents.
- Newer technology suitable for some applications.
